Book Reviews: Pendragon: The Merchant of Death
by
Gregory - Grade 5
Anybody who's looking for a sincere
thriller leading into not only an epic series (which gets awesome after
#4) but a complete best selling story that is sure to thrill your heart
out. D.J. Machale (the author) must have spent hours upon hours plotting
and (drinking coffee) writing. The story is about the popular, athletic,
perfect; Bobby Pendragon, who one day sets out into an abandoned subway
station with his Uncle Press in the heart of the Bronx in New York. This
lonely day begins an incredible adventure for him to lead him into the
fight with other travelers against the evil Saint Dane, all to protect
Halla. To find out what all these funky words mean read the book. Then
read Pendragon: The Lost City of Faar. Next Pendragon: The Never War, and
finally Pendragon: The Reality Bug. I don't know what #5 is yet because
they haven't come out with it yet... but if you happen to find out... tell
me!
Redwall
![]()
Redwall
by Brian Jacques is a best-selling, (advanced reader summer reading
list), incredibly good book filled with savage rats, brave mice and
dudes with very menacing weapons. This book, as you can tell by now is
one of my favorites. It is the first in the Redwall saga. The book
begins with Mattathias the Mouse who lives in the castle of Redwall,
Mattathias wants adventure. He gets more then he needs when Cluny the
Rat and his band of Evil Rats attack the castle. It's up to Mattathias,
the Guoisum, and the otters to save Redwall and reclaim Martin's Sword.
This is the first book in a series of fifteen; for the most enjoyment,
read them in order.
